I bought this toy chest because I could not afford one made by the Amish and I wanted to buy a chest made in the USA. I am disappointed because of the finish. Mine is honey oak. It doesn't look like real wood, although it is. It looks painted and doesn't blend in with my oak floors or any other wood in my house. It stands out as looking fake. If I could of got it back in the box with all the small cut up, well fitted styrofoam pieces, I would have sent it back!

This toy chest is sturdy, the stain was perfect in color and smoothness. I got exactly what I wanted.

I have 2 of these toy chests, and have now come back to purchase a 3rd for a friend for her baby shower. i looked and looked for a simple, tasteful, quality toy chest, and this product does not disappoint. i have one in natural laquer and one in honey oak. the only thing i'd do differently if purchasing again for myself, is maybe go darker than honey oak. but the quality of the product meets my expectations. i will keep these for years to come.
